I’ve said it before but harry potter isn’t good enough to justify liberating it from jk rowling
It’s not the best but it still has really immersive worldbuilding and it still was a giant part of my queer babyhood so how about we stop bothering hp fans, most of whom hate jk and are very aware of the ip’s flaws thanks
a work of art doesn’t have to measure up to any standard whatsoever in order for people to get something out of it. It may not be good enough /for you/ and you need to recognize that’s not universal.
Genuinely wondering what the fuck you think qualifies as good world building to suggest Harry Potter has that because it most certainly doesn’t
i think the werewolf who preyed on young men to also turn into werewolves as a metaphor for gay men spreading hiv was pretty good worldbuilding
I do also think the fact that most of the evil women in there have masculine features was a really nice addition, love that so much, fucking genius
@milfphasma was it? Narcissa? Bellatrix? Umbridge? Do they have masculine features? I’m genuinely asking how it was written in books cause i don’t remember.
And I agree with @topsydead and I kindly request @mallghoul to read @topsydead ’s blog again especially the last part.
Totally agree, not everything has to be top notch for people to enjoy em, like….just let us breath y'all
let me simplify it for y'all:
if you don’t like it, don’t read it
if you do like it, don’t interact with people who have stated that they are uncomfortable with interacting with people who like it
